Playoff preview: Lindbergh

November 13th, 2009 at Fri, 13th, 2009 at 3:56 pm by Adam McFadden

Lindbergh plays Ferndale at Renton Stadium Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Ferndale

Intro: The Golden Eagles are 8-2 and finished second in the Northwest League.
Best win: Ferndale’s 28-21 win against West Seattle last week put the team into the state tournament.
Worst loss: Lynden is good, but the Golden Eagles didn’t come close in a 31-0 loss Sept. 25.
Trend: Up. The Golden Eagles have won six straight after starting the year 2-2.
Extra point: These two teams look very evenly matched with Ferndale sporting a 287-139 scoring differential and Lindbergh posting a 272-119 differential.
Bottom line: I like the Eagles in this one. Lindbergh has improved so much since the beginning of the season and it will be tough for anyone to slow the Eagles’ offense.
Comparing how Ferndale (28-21 over West Seattle) and Lindbergh (44-6 over Bainbridge) treated Metro teams last week leads me to believe the Eagles are a better team.
