Clearing up the Seamount football playoff picture

October 29th, 2009 at Thu, 29th, 2009 at 11:44 am by Adam McFadden

The Seamount has four spots for the play-in round of the state tournament.
Lindbergh is locked into the top spot and will take its first Seamount title in a long time no matter what happens against Evergreen this Friday.
Hazen is also locked into second by virtue of a head-to-head win against Kennedy that would give the Highlanders the position if they somehow lost to Tyee tonight.
After that it gets interesting.
Kennedy Catholic is currently third with a 5-2 league record. Mount Rainier and Renton are tied for fourth, at 4-3 each.
Kennedy will take the No. 3 spot (and Renton will take the No. 4 spot) with a win over Mount Rainier Friday, but the Lancers are seriously reeling from injury and illness.
But if the Rams beat the Lancers and Renton beats Highline, there would be a three-way tie between the teams. At that point, the tiebreaker is point differential.
