Good News: Lakeridge does well on reading proficiency tests

October 5th, 2009 at 11:42 am by Celeste Gracey

This one is from Randy Matheson, at the Renton School District. Sounds like a great start for the district:

Eighty-four percent of Lakeridge Elementary School first-graders exceeded standards on beginning-of-the-year reading proficiency testing. The students took part in the Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBLES) testing which helps establish a student’s oral fluency level and measures his/her accuracy of reading at the beginning, middle and end of the year at each grade level.

About this blog

My hope with this blog is to offer daily updates on the Renton School District and the Renton Technical College, and to keep the community aware of the projects I’m working on.

When I hear of meetings, I hope to post about them alongside an agenda.  Also watch for meeting wrap-ups, where I’ll highlight what happened at some major meetings.

I invite you to offer pitches, make comments and dialog with me and others on the issues that may come up through my blogging.

You can also e-mail me at cgracey@rentonreporter.com or give me a cal at 425-2553484, ext. 5052. I’ll also be twittering about my posts at @celestegracey.
